(Jeremiah 29.11 NIV) These words were spoken to Israel when they went into captivity in Babalyon. God had just announced that His judgment would be visited on Judah but after 70 years he would visit them and restore them to their native land. Likewise God says that Renton will undergo a period of time that is trying. A time of judgment and what appears to be abandonment. But it will be short live, for God will do a work of restoration and cause the city to experience a prosperity that it has never known.
